When it comes to Fair and Festivals in Kerala there is a huge list of festivals in the beautiful state of India called Kerala. Kerala has very vast culture and people of the state celebrate N-number of festivals. Some of the famous festivals and fairs that are celebrated in God’s own country are follows:
Maramom Convention: Maramom Convention is been celebrating every year in the month of February. It is considered the largest gathering of Christians in Asia and is a religious reading. It is also said that Maramom Convention is the Bible study and discourses by scholars from India and abroad.
Nehru Boat Race Trophy: Nehru Boat Race Trophy is one of the biggest the backwaters of Kerala challenge. It happens every year on the second Saturday of month August. Nehru Boat Race Trophy is also famous with snake boat race. In the race all the boats are beautifully decorated.
Rajiv Gandhi Boat Race: Another famous boat race in the state is Rajiv Gandhi Boat Race which is a memorial to the former prime minister. In this race, you will find Colorful water procession and people participating from all over Kerala.
Attachamayam: Attachamayam is also the famous festival of Kerala. It is celebrated on the month of August or September, also called Malayalam month of Chingam. On this day, you will find many colorful areas of Kochi and also get to enjoy the folk art forms, floats & musical band and many more.
Onam: Onam is another famous festival that is celebrated big time in Kerala. It is an annual harvest festival of Kerala which is celebrated on the Malayalam month of Chingam. In this festival people do lot of flower decorations and also perform Classical and folk dance with traditional music.
Aaranmula Boat Race:Aaranmula Boat Race happens every year in the month of August and September near scenic village of Aaranmula. In this race, each boat is near about 100 feet long. Here in this race, you will get to see the great craftsmanship.
Thrissur Pooram: Thrissur Pooram festival is the festival that happens in the month of May every year at Thekinkadu Maidan at Thrissur in Kerala. In this festival, you will get to see near about30 caparisoned elephants assembled in the precincts of the vadakumnathan temple. The temple id dedicated to Lord Shiva. You will also find many instrumental been playing in this festival including wide variety of drums.
